“Wherever we are on April 24, our hearts go out to the Armenian people,” Spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Maria Zakharova noted in a post on Facebook.
“April 24 marks the commemoration day of the Armenian Genocide victims. A person, who does not accept the word “Genocide”, questions the number of the victims, discussing ‘whether it has been committed or not’,” she noted, reminding that the Russian State Duma adopted a resolution in 1995 to condemn the genocide committed against the Armenian people in their historical homeland – Western Armenia – in 1915-1922.
